The gear train can be divided into fixed axle gear train, epicyclic gear train and composite gear train. In practical machinery, a series of meshing gears are often used to meet the working requirements. This transmission system composed of a series of gears is called gear train.
Gear train is widely used in machinery. Its main functions are as follows: to realize the transmission with large transmission ratio. When a large transmission ratio is required between two shafts, if only one pair of gears are used for transmission, the diameters of the two wheels will vary greatly, resulting in pinion. Therefore, the fixed shaft gear train composed of multistage gears can be used to realize.
1. Large transmission ratio. Generally, the transmission ratio of a pair of gears should not be too large. For example, it is required to achieve a transmission ratio of 100. If only a pair of gears are used, the diameter of the large wheel will be 100 times that of the small wheel. If a three-stage gear train is adopted, the diameter of the large wheel can be greatly reduced.
2. Large shaft spacing. If the distance between the two shafts is large and a pair of gears are used for transmission, the diameter of the two gears is bound to be large. If one or more gears are added in the middle, the gear size can be reduced.
3. Speed change or direction change: change the transmission ratio of the gear train with the speed change mechanism (see transmission) to realize speed change; Or set the intermediate wheel to change the steering of the driven shaft.
