Expansion box, a sealed cooling system is often used to cool electronic equipment, so some measures must be taken to compensate for the fluid thermal expansion caused by temperature rise. In addition, the air in the refrigerant must be cleaned, and some damping measures should be provided to reduce the pressure impact in the system. These can be realized by expansion tank, which is also used as the storage tank of liquid refrigerant.
Some car engine cooling systems are designed with expansion tanks. The shell of the expansion tank is marked with an upper scribed line and a lower scribed line. When the coolant is filled to the upper line, it means that the coolant has been filled up and cannot be filled again; When the coolant is filled to the off-line, it means that the amount of coolant is not enough, so it can be filled a little more; When the coolant is filled between the two scribed lines, it indicates that the filling amount is appropriate. In addition, the engine should be vacuumized before filling with antifreeze. If vacuumizing unconditionally, exhaust the air in the cooling system after filling antifreeze. Otherwise, when the air temperature increases to a certain extent with the engine water temperature, the water vapor pressure in the cooling system increases. Bubble pressure can increase the flow resistance of antifreeze, so as to flow slowly, reduce the heat emitted by the radiator and increase the engine temperature. In order to prevent this problem, a steam pressure valve is designed in the expansion tank cover. When the pressure in the cooling system is greater than 110 ~ 120kPa, the pressure valve opens and the gas will be discharged from this hole. If there is less water in the cooling system, a vacuum will be formed. Because the radiator water pipe in the cooling system is relatively thin, it will be flattened by atmospheric pressure. However, there is a vacuum valve in the expansion tank cover. When the true space is less than 80 ~ 90kpa, the vacuum valve will be opened to allow air to enter the cooling system to prevent the water pipe from being flattened.
