Most of these accessories are installed outside the engine gearbox, and the speed is mostly different from the engine rotor, so they need to be driven by corresponding transmission devices. They can be installed in one or several separate accessory transmission gearbox, and each transmission gearbox is driven by the engine rotor through the transmission shaft. Some engines also use a separate air turbine to drive individual accessories with high power consumption (such as afterburner fuel pump, etc.). The weight of accessories and transmission devices of modern gas turbine engine accounts for about 15% ~ 20% of the total weight of the engine, and the power consumed by accessory rotation can reach 150 ~ 370kW.
