The master cylinder, also known as brake master oil (gas), is mainly used to drive the transmission of brake fluid (or gas) to each brake wheel cylinder and push the piston.
The brake master cylinder belongs to a one-way acting piston hydraulic cylinder. Its function is to convert the mechanical energy input by the pedal mechanism into hydraulic energy. The brake master cylinder is divided into single chamber and double chamber types, which are used for single circuit and double circuit hydraulic braking systems respectively.
In order to improve the vehicle driving safety, according to the requirements of traffic regulations, the vehicle service braking system now adopts the dual circuit braking system, that is, the dual circuit hydraulic braking system composed of tandem dual cavity master cylinder (single cavity brake master cylinder has been eliminated).

Working principle: when the driver steps on the foot pedal, the force of the foot will make the piston in the brake master cylinder push the brake oil forward and generate pressure in the oil circuit. The pressure is transmitted to the brake cylinder piston of each wheel through the brake oil, and the piston of the brake cylinder pushes the brake pad outward to make the brake pad rub with the inner surface of the brake drum, and generate enough friction to reduce the speed of the wheel, so as to achieve the purpose of braking.
